12th Annual Miss Mary’s Ice Cream Crankin’ will be held on Sunday, August 21, 2016 from 2:00-4:00 pm on Roswell Square. Enjoy an afternoon of fun for the whole family at the annual Miss Mary’s Ice Cream Crankin’.

Sample a variety of homemade ice creams prepared by our dedicated volunteer “crankers.” (No, they’re not cranky, it refers to the old hand crank ice cream makers!) Tickets are available on site. In addition to street parking, parking is permitted at: Roswell First Baptist, 710 Mimosa Blvd, Roswell

12th Annual Miss Mary’s Ice Cream Crankin’ admission is $6.00 per person or $20 per family (up to 6). Taste more than 100 flavors of homemade ice cream – dive into ice cream eating contests – enjoy live music – and let the kids work off their energy in the Kid’s Korner.

Crank your own ice cream. Sign up to make and serve your own ice cream. They will provide an assigned space, tasting cups, spoons, and entertainment. Bring your ice cream and scoops, table and canopy to the Square on the day of the event. Liven up your ice cream “shop” with signs and decorations. Join the fun in beautiful Roswell!

In 2015, there were more than 3,000 attendees, 50 groups cranked ice cream, including
businesses, faith-based organizations, civic, youth and service groups, and families. More than 100 flavors were offered for tasting.

All proceeds from the 12th Annual Miss Mary’s Ice Cream Crankin’ benefit The Drake House. In the United States, single mothers with children are the fastest growing homeless population. That
trend holds true in North Fulton, where 10% of households live below the poverty line. Many of
these households are single women with children. With today’s economic and housing downturn,
the problem has never been greater. The Drake House offers a 90-day emergency residential housing program with a goal toward independent housing. Mothers and their children live in one of our 16 apartments while they work with our social workers to develop an empowerment plan, attend life skills workshops, receive tutoring for the children, and participate in a mentoring program. Success is measured in full-time employment, financial stabilization, improved school performance for children, and independent housing. 78% of the families served by The Drake House have gone on to stable housing. Since opening our doors to homeless families in 2006, The Drake House has served over 365 families with more than 670 children.
