2016 Northwest Metro Atlanta Farmers Markets

We’re back to continue our series on Atlanta farmers markets in 2016, having already covered 2016 Intown Atlanta Farmers Markets. Everyone seems to enjoy going to local farmers markets as it has certainly become one of the hotter trends in the past few years. Certainly, some farmers markets have a long history and some are newer additions to meet the growing demand of Atlanta consumers. Here are some great options for 2016 Northwest Metro Atlanta Farmers Markets.

Smyrna Fresh Produce Market – Visit the local farmers market on Saturdays and stock up on all your fresh fruits and veggies at the Fresh Produce Market. The farmers market in Smyrna is open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the parking lot between Smyrna First Baptist and the Market Village from May 7th through September 24th. Farmers’ Atlanta Road Market (FARM) – is a weekday Farmers’ Market, providing the community with a direct source to fresh produce, local goods and artisan products. Customers are able to build relationships with the vendors, connecting with the source of their food. Emphasizing local means we eat seasonal items that will taste better and be better for you while supporting farmers in our own community, and minimizing our carbon footprint. FARM in Smyrna is open every Tuesday from 4:30PM to 7:00PM, beginning the first Tuesday in April through the last Tuesday in October. Click here for more information.

Marietta Square Farmers Market –  2015 was most successful season yet and they plan on this next season to be even bigger. The market has an average of 65 vendors and hundreds of customers each week. Market customers have lots of variety to choose from including heirloom tomatoes, fruits and vegetables that are rarely, if ever, available from the grocery store. The farmers market in Marietta is open on Saturdays from April to December from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Click here for more information.

Kennesaw Farmers Market – features a variety of just-picked produce grown by local farmers; fresh baked breads, cakes and pies from local bakeries; landscape plants, house plants and herbs; homemade jams, jellies and salsas; and other interesting and fun items. The farmers market at Depot Park in Kennesaw is open from May through September on Mondays from 3:30-7:30 pm, rain or shine. Click here for more information.

Historic Downtown Acworth Farmer’s Market – Market customers will have a wide variety of garden ripe Georgia grown vegetables, eggs, cheese, bedding plants, fresh baked bread, pies, cakes, honey and jams to choose from each week. This year’s market will be bigger and better than previous years and shoppers won’t believe the selection of home grown goodies! The farmers market in Acworth is open on Friday mornings from 8:00 a.m. until noon from April 8th to October 28th. Click here for more information.

Woodstock Farm Fresh Market – 2016 marks the 8th year of the Farmers Market in Woodstock. Produce vendors are now required to grow at least 85% of the product they bring to the market. These rules were put in place to help guarantee that if you are a shopper at the Woodstock Farm Fresh Market you can know for sure that the produce at the market is locally grown. The Woodstock Farm Fresh Market will be open every Saturday, May-October in 2016 from 8:30am to Noon. Click here for more information.

Mableton Farmers Market – open for its seventh season.  Along with a wide variety of tasty fresh-grown good-for-you produce grown by local small farmers, there will be fresh-baked items, honey, eggs, handmade soaps and personal care items, hand-crafted bird feeders and cooking demonstrations. The farmers market in Mableton is held at the Mable House Complex on Thursdays from 8:30am until 12:30pm from May 26th to August 25th. Click here for more information.

Cobb County Farm Bureau and Cobb County PARKS are partnering to bring a new Farmer’s Market to Cobb County. Starting May 24, 2016 and running 3-7 p.m. every Tuesday through October, local farmers will have booths set up at Lost Mountain Park, 4845 Dallas Highway in Powder Springs. The event will feature food trucks, pony rides, face painting and balloons, fire trucks, live music, bounce houses and more. Customers will be able to shop and eat locally-grown items from vendors providing eggs, meat, breads/baked goods, jams/jellies/preserved items and produce. Click here for more information.
