Lenox Place was founded in 1905 as one of Atlanta’s first suburban “subdivisions” and lies on the western edge of Decatur. It was situated along Howard (Lenox) Avenue, which at the time was a busy street car line that connected Decatur and downtownn Atlanta. The earliest homes were built at the south end of the neighborhood, closest to Howard Avenue, and residents would use the street car for their daily commutes.Lenox-Place-banner

Today, Lenox Place is home to an eclectic mix of artists, educators, scientists, soothsayers, moms, dads, kids, cats, dogs, chickens, and coyotes. A neighborhood where time slows down a little bit on entry, Lenox Place is a place where neighbors are actually neighbors to each other.

In 2011, a group of neighbors got together to create new branding for Lenox Place. The logo features a tree decorated with icons representing the creative talents and professions of the neighborhood’s residents. The residents wanted to create a brand to bring everyone together with the use of street sign toppers and banners for homes within Lenox Place.
