Voted Atlanta’s “favorite fall festival” in the Great Atlanta Face Off, this year’s Fall Fest in Candler Park is not to be missed.  Taking place on Saturday October 1st from noon to 10 p.m. and Sunday October 2nd from noon until 9 p.m., Candler Park Fall Fest 2016 promises two days of old-fashioned festival fun with a hyper local twist, a “small town” vibe and some of the best food and entertainment available to Atlanta locals and visitors alike.

This year marks the 16th anniversary of Fall Fest in Candler Park, a two-day celebration of music, art, family and kicked off with a 5k race and a tour of homes. Candler Park Fall Fest 2016 one reason that makes people really fall for the charm of Candler Park and all that the Intown Atlanta communities have to offer. An estimated 15,000 daily festival goers are expected.

With an expanded Food Zone, some of Atlanta’s most popular food trucks, food tents and specialty push carts will be featured, all hand-selected for their diverse and eclectic offerings.  Special “foodie favorites” include: Will Turner’s “Blaxican” food truck, voted the top food truck in the country by Mobile Cuisine; “Espetada” serving a variety of typical Portuguese dishes; “Buena Gente” a Cuban Bakery food truck serving freshly baked empanadas, croquetas, pastelitos, classic Cuban sandwiches, and authentic Cuban desserts; “The Muenster Truck”, offering globally inspired renditions of America’s favorite comfort food – Grilled Cheese; Hutchinson’s Finest Biscuits; Field Dog Kitchen; Five Finger Philly Cheesesteaks; Tex’s Tacos; Mix’D UP’s “rockin’” burger truck; UrbanTaali; Williamson Brothers Barbeque; and The Fry Guy.

Dessert and snack vendors include: King of Pops’ gourmet popsicles; Queen of Cream’s 100% from scratch ice cream; Little Jimmy’s Italian Ices; Cult Carts Cotton Candy Pushcart featuring 100% Organic, Dye Free, Gluten Free and Non-Allergen cotton candy in a variety of unique flavors; Rusty’s Nutz Hot Boiled Peanuts & Fresh Roasted Peanuts; and Banjo Cold Brew Coffee featuring 100% Organic, Fair Trade and locally roasted coffee.

This year, Candler Park’s own “Fox Brothers” will be serving up BBQ, and also provide a large gathering area with plenty of seating so festival goers can enjoy not only this year’s vast food offerings, but its impressive music and entertainment line-up as well.

Candler Park Fall Fest 2016will feature an eclectic musical line up that will have something for everyone!”, Says Fall Fest co- founder and music director Mark Clement. Saturday will feature tribute bands who recreate the full look and experience of classic bands. Featuring popular throwback groups like Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, Nirvana, Bowie, The Clash, Devo and The Doors. Tribute bands include: Rumours (Fleetwood Mac Tribute); The Dirty Doors (Doors Tribute); Devomatix (Devo Tribute); The Buggs (Beatles Tribute); Nameless Nameless (Nirvana Tribute); Clashinista (Clash Tribute); and Pinups (Bowie Tribute).

Sunday will feature only local bands including: Deja Blue Grass, Bumpin the Mango, Ex Wives and Rock-It 88. This year’s biggest musical draw with be Atlanta’s own “Queen of the Blues,” and Georgia Music Hall of famer, Candler Park’s own Francine Reed.  Her appearance at the festival will be her only local show in Atlanta for 2016. Festival planners urge fans to get to the festival early to see the legendary singer. Sunday will also be featuring a rising local star, Mia Green to promote her debut album release, produced by Tom Tapley (Sugarland’s producer).

In addition to a strong line up of entertainment and food, Candler Park Fall Fest 2016 will also include Kidlandia, sponsored for the second year by the Edgewood Retail district.  Along with its carnival- style focus on old-timey fun, live shows, roving entertainers, and sweet treats for both children and their parents, tethered hot air balloon rides will be available on Saturday and Sunday.

There will also be an expanded Artist’s Market at Candler Park Fall Fest 2016, in partnership with Candler Park’s own “Indie Craft Experience” featuring more than 150 booths of local indie craft, vintage art vendors and area fine artists.  And, the Annual Tour of Homes will feature restored historic homes, some with backyard farms, chicken coops, and other urban farming garden spaces.  There will also be a 5K Run and a 1K Fun Run (or walk).
