What to Do in Atlanta this Weekend

Lots to see and do in Atlanta this weekend. So don’t let the heat stop you from having fun. Here are some great Atlanta events to take in this weekend.

Join in for the 4th Annual Movies on the Town in Brookhaven. This popular summer movie series at Town Brookhaven to be held on Thursdays, June 2nd – July 21st! Sponsored by SkinnyPop! Movies begin at dusk! Ice Age will be showing tonight, July 14th.

2016 season of Movies in Central Park continues tonight, July 14th, with the classic, Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Nothing says summertime like watching your favorite movie under the stars and in the glow of the Atlanta skyline!

Sunset Sips 2016 continues at The Chattahoochee Nature Center (CNC) in Roswell, a laid back, family friendly event and the grounds are open for you to explore. Grab a friend and head over for live local music, cash bar, and feel free to bring a picnic dinner! Playing tonight, July 14th, is Garrett Douglas.

A star-studded 1996 Summer Olympics 20th anniversary celebration will feature live entertainment, a dazzling fireworks show, food trucks and an Olympic and Paralympic volunteer reunion. The celebration will be on Saturday, July 16. Gates open at 5 p.m. Admission is free.

Chef Ford Fry is pleased to invite you to the 8th annual Attack of the Killer Tomato Festival, a benefit for Georgia Organics. Join the fun at Park Tavern in Midtown Atlanta on Sunday, July 17th from 1:00 to 5:00 P.M. Enjoy tomato-based treats from dozens of chefs and mixologists and live music.

The Atlanta BeltLine Partnership and Presenting Sponsor Delta Air Lines invite runners of all fitness levels to participate in the 6th annual Atlanta BeltLine Westside 5K on Saturday, July 16th beginning at 7:30 a.m. The day’s festivities start at West End Park where hundreds of participants ranging from avid runners to families will run/walk through the historic West End and Westview neighborhoods.

Celebrate the sport and lifestyle of bicycling and fitness at the 1st Annual Atlanta Bike Expo on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at the Georgia International Congress Center 2000 Convention Center in College Park. 2016 Atlanta Field Day is a throw back to grade school, built with adults in mind. They’ve got all the classic events like tug of war, relay races, obstacle courses, etc. – plus some crazy new games and some surprises throughout the day. Teams will earn points in each event

The Seventh Annual Atlanta Shortsfest is held July 15 – 16, 2016 at the Synchronicity Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia. Atlanta Shortsfest showcases a diverse mix of short films by ultra-talented filmmakers from across the globe.

Sunset Sessions returns to Park Tavern in Midtown Atlanta – a weekly, alternative music series in Piedmont Park. First launched in 2015, Radio 105.7, The Bowery Presents and Park Tavern will once again come together to bring Atlantans and visitors alike an incredible lineup of live music at the Park Tavern Sunset Sessions from some of today’s most buzz-worthy artists every Sunday for free this summer. Performing July 17th is Wild Child.

Celebrate the 11th annual Gwinnett Restaurant Week. No matter where you travel, it is nice to check out the local’s favorite, go-to restaurants, and Gwinnett has many of them. The second annual Georgia Restaurant Week begins Monday, July 18, 2016 through Sunday, July 24, 2016. Georgia Restaurant Week take place at any participating restaurant throughout Georgia.
